Coach steps on out-of-line players who chanted “no means no”, in hopes of making Oregon rape-neutral

Several University of Oregon football players face potential disciplinary action after chanting “no means no” after their win against Florida State University — apparently in mockery of Florida’s quarterback, Jameis Winston, who was accused of sexual assault. The New York Times has detailed a number of problems with police handling of that case.

Oregon coach Mark Helfrich released a statement:

“We are aware of the inappropriate behavior in the postgame. This is not what our program stands for, and the student-athletes will be disciplined internally.”
