Oranging the world

UN 1in3-womenThe U.S. State Department observed the U.N.’s International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. on November 25. The observance continues with “16 Days of Activism” and ends December 10th, on the apparently lackluster official U.N. International Human Rights Day.

    • The ongoing “Orange the world” campaign to create ‘orange zones’ including the oranging of Time Square, the Empire State Building, the United Nations Headquarters and the sphinx and pyramids in Egypt. This is the main U.N. web page, very well maintained with extensive links, photos, and events.
    • The #HumanRightsDay hashtag is a little more lively than the official U.N. website, as people are posting some events.
