Sex industry activist knighted

In the 1980s, Catherine Healy left her position as a New Zealand teacher to work illegally in a brothel.

Her income went from $400 a week to $2000 a week, but now she didn’t have a contract.

So she formed the New Zealand Prostitutes’ Collective and got prostitution legalized and regulated.

“…on Monday, Queen Elizabeth II marked her official birthday — different from her actual birthday — by commending Healy’s 30-year career and announcing that the former sex worker will receive the title of dame. “

As might be expected, she already has a Wikipedia article, which says Catherine Healy (activist), and not Catherine Healy (lady of the evening), and which has already been updated.
