Does Sucks suck?

Who can tell.

Okay they’re back, including Carrite’s somewhat snarky exit poem, but for some reason Abd is no longer listed as the mod for every single thread.

And now they have gone over to the Dark Side.

Here is what Carrite’s poem would look like if Sucks was readable:

Why does it always come back to pedophilia?

    1. Interesting insofar as it is further proof Wade is everything a Wikipedian is not supposed to be (neutral, respectful, polite). With no hint of irony, she speaks of Wikipedia as supposedly being a team effort in an Op-Ed for the SignPost, and yet in the one rare time she actually used a Wikipedia talk page recently, in her DYK nom for Wanjira Mathai, it was seen, as has been obvious all along, her idea of team work is that she makes crappy articles, other people fix her errors, which are still basic and obvious and should not be happening for someone with her experience, and she still collects the plaudits for creating X articles. She remains a perfect exemplar of the total fraud that is Wikipedia as a social or academic exercise, and as ever, the people at Wikipediocracy are just as happy to ignore it as the Wikipedians are. The world needs a way to highlight this shit, but it appears that Sucks! is not it.

      1. Someone googled “Karen White” for her, but she still didn’t get it.

I would take this a lot more seriously if someone was getting upset over Beestra’s edits, adding obvious vandalism into BLPs. As it is, this just looks like stalking and beancounting. No one goes after dudes like this. Wade’s stuff is actually pretty good, especially when you consider she is a newbie.

    1. I happily committed board suicide at the news they had appointed Abd as a moderator. Some things are too ridiculous to even try to work around, for the greater good. The place needs completely new management, that move being the final piece of evidence, gathered over months of seeing them doing nothing to solve the Kumioko/Juice problem, that it is their total disinterest in what actually happens on the board they claim to be Administrators of, that is the main issue preventing it from serving any purpose at all.

      1. It looks like boredbird has also disappeared, after an altercation with Abd, over pedophilia of all things.
In the meantime, Vigilant continues to dominate the board, in spite of not being a member, with no less than 5 of the top threads.

        1. Well, I did not know you wrote what is mentioned here on sucks: https://www.wikipediasucks.co/forum/viewtopic.php?p=17314#p17314.

It “always comes down to ‘pedophilia’ because pedophilia is a Mirkin Phase 1 topic and sets people off, firing up the old amygdala. Trolls know that and firing up the amygdala is their stock in trade, they become expert at it. Telling the truth becomes “advocacy.” But truth and advocacy exist in different realms. Harris G. Mirkin, a professor of political science, was not advocating anything, just describing social history.

If someone is suspected to be a pedophile and if there is a risk to children, it would be far more effective for the protection of children to report them to authorities, who can obtain access records, etc. Continued editing would continue to provide location information. (But should be closely monitored.) Pedophile advocacy on the wikis is obviously beyond the pale, and Commons policies suck.

By the way, the Wikipedia article misrepresents Mirkin, because other writers misrepresented him, so they can be cited as if fact, even though what was written in the cited review was mindreading and not actually in the article — and explicitly denied by him.

  1. The way to fix Sucks a couple months ago was to toss the one obvious crosseyed lunatic that was excreting on the floor and playing with the poo, to give another highly entertaining sociopathic misanthrope room to do his thing but telling him in no certain terms to keep his focus elsewhere (no attacking other posters), and quietly ignoring the butthurt regurgitator of past angst while filing his off topic boomerangs to his own sad, pathetic case to File 13.

What they did instead, is put a power-tripping micromanager in charge of the show. Right down the drain it goes…….. bloop!

  2. I don’t know why everyone keeps using these drain analogies. Sucks started in the sewer and has never risen above it.

The individuals involved were told all of what you said, and told politely. But nobody listened, so they got in someone who would throw their weight around.

Sucks has always been the forum of last resort for individuals who did not fit in at other forums. Such people can have some very interesting insider information, so I suspect that Sucks exists in part to debrief these people, just in case they have something esoteric for The Book. It is also an interesting place to showcase the personalities of these people, just in case you never ran into them on Wikipedia.

Kumioko for instance has a long history with Wikipedia, and is probably part of its institutional memory. So you would think that by now he could take the role of an elder statesman, and explain how things work. But a lot of that is intertwined with Wikipedia’s toxic culture, which in turn is triggering to other people. So if you take the last interchange there, where Kumioko used something about his presumed ban from Wikipediocracy to say something about Vigilant’s place in that power structure, people just went crazy because the banning thing was tied up with it, and forgot that this was really on topic because it explained something about Wikipediocracy and how people perceive Vigilant. And nobody pointed out that Kumioko didn’t really get banned, he jumped because he was convinced he was about to be pushed, given his perception of Vigilant’s role there. And I would have to say that he may not be so far off target, they are still making nasty asides about him there, in a place where he cannot defend himself. Sucks should probably just have one thread about it, so the people who are triggered by it don’t have to come across it by accident.

CN is hilarious but he can also be very intense. He has also provided some much needed political balance for a forum that has from time to time been dominated by far right extremists, and the less blatantly right U.S. military establishment. I will be forever indebted to him for describing Wikipediocrazies as “panty sniffers”. I still can not stop laughing. Now that they have driven the women off of Wikipediocracy again, with a little help from the arbitration committee who has had some previous experience with these purges, I suppose they will go back to butt sniffing.

  3. Kumioko is not banned, but was recently warned, defied the warning, and was blocked for a week. Kumioko has no clue that respecting site ownership is a thing. Moderators are appointed by owners, and attacking them, which Kum has done on Sucks and on a Discord server, is the most basic reason for ban anywhere. Crow was in trouble for the same thing: attacking site moderation, and not as “critique.” but as bald-faced personal attack. It will get you banned anywhere. Vigilant attacks almost everyone, but is protected on Wikipediocracy because it’s considered entertaining.

We can do without that kind of entertainment. Any of the banned users on Sucks could be reinstated if they agree to respect site moderation (which doesn’t mean “agree with it.”) On Sucks, it means to not create messes for mods to clean up, after being warned to stop. Wanna say Stuff? Say it somewhere else.

Crow, here, says he “happily committed board suicide.” Yes, he did. He was warned by a mod and by an admin (maybe two admins) and told them to “get bent.” And then, of course, it is claimed that mods are petty dictators, etc. The usual troll crap.

    1. Think yourself lucky Lomax that I am not minded to abuse the kindly Madame’s generosity to lay out the several paragraphs needed to fill in the gaps omitted from your self-serving narrative, all of which of course you childishly claimed to have ignored for these tedious but transparently false charges. Suffice to say, it was months if not years in the making, and we can all see who out of the two of us has multiple venues to have their say and who ultimately has none. And yet I still would rather accept whatever humiliating and restrictive conditions Wikipediocracy would care to set out for my return, than ever be seen to give an inch to you, or more importantly, the fools who appointed you. Your ungrateful arrogance and self-serving nonsense aside, I am perfectly happy at the outcome, since it does rather show who strikes more fear into the likes of Vigilant, who was right all along about the Kumioko problem, and who ultimately attracts readers and posters looking to criticise or even defend Wikipedia and think Wikipediocracy sucks. But what it also ultimately shows is that I am reasonable man who will happily be disrespected by people barely fit to lace his boots, while there is still a chance that the greater good is served by it. You, not so much. So get bent. Since it requires no time to moderate a dead forum, have the decency to spend that time you now have reviewing my past work, and my earlier attempts to be respectful to the owenrship without compromising the site’s supposed reason for existence, and you might just learn something. Ya prick.

      1. Plenty of toilet language all around, so it looks like Sucks is just returning to its roots, even in exile.

But no attempts at bad poetry? I will have to take a stab at it.

the sucks blog was wrecked, after years of neglect
and floating along in the sewer
so in their confusion, they looked to cold fusion
for a savior to bring something newer

with text walls unending and theory unbending
        the messiah demanded respect
but every decision brought on a collision
        and chaos continued unchecked

  4. Okay, you were mentioned here, so I suppose you should get the “right of reply” here, but your walls of text about Vigilant are already spread across four other websites, so I don’t know how many more platforms you really need at this point.

I do welcome any further news of your lawsuit. https://genderdesk.wordpress.com/2019/06/28/lomax-v-wmf-abd-names-names/

We at the genderdesk do not expect anyone to “respect my authoritah”, my Evil Twin at least, because she enjoys being a “power-tripping micromanager” and does not need any other recompense. Unfortunately she is also a bit lazy, so I guess you get what you pay for.

And “right of reply” also applies to anyone who no longer feels comfortable at Sucks, and wants to tell someone to “get bent”, feel free to vent here, preferably in the form of a haiku or bad limerick, although free form prose competition will also be accepted.

  5. And no, the images do NOT need “a little rendering to handle perspective”. They are not meant to deceive, they are supposed to look like they have been altered intentionally, and you are supposed to see the alterations, the incongruity is part of the intended joke.

  6. Just when you think Sucks can’t sink any lower, you see something like this:

What’s in this guy’s bird seed, it looks to me like Kelly Martin was the one who pulled the trigger on the “roomates”. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Poetlister&diff=32455012&oldid=32453173 This is linked from one of the SPI investigations. I haven’t gone any further to look for possible photos but if they are of Living Persons they have probably been deeply scrubbed.

And ‘Wipipedia’, this is an eye-opener, not gonna link to it directly but it looks like a bondage site. https://wikiapiary.com/wiki/Wipipedia
Not sure if any of these Wikpediocrazies would want a pic of their granddaughter pilfered for one of these (as a ‘harmless’ joke???!1?)…

…but I’m pretty sure they would draw the line if it was a boy. Here is a screenshot of their main page.
