Palestinian journalist Abdallah Aljamal

Reports are just starting to come out, but it looks like reporter Abdallah Aljamal’s family was holding one three of the Israeli hostages in their house.

Hostage Noa ArgaMani was rescued by Israeli military and was taken to see her mother, who is in the hospital with end-stage brain cancer. Early reports indicted that Noa ArgaMani was the hostage kept by Aljamal’s family, but Israeli military sources have confirmed it was the three male hostages.

Abdallah Aljamal ( Abdullah Ahmed Al-Jamal, 1987-2024) (عبد الله أحمد الجمل), 36, has been reported killed during the rescue, also his wife Fatima al-Jamal, 36, and father Dr. Ahmed al-Jamal, 74. The elderly Ahmed’s daughter Zainab, 27, was reported wounded.

Initial reports say that Abdallah Aljamal was a freelance journalist for al-Jazeera and the Palestine Chronicle, but al-Jazeera has distanced itself from the situation.

He “served as the spokesperson for the Palestinian Ministry of Labor”.  Which one, the West Bank one or the Gaza Hamas one?  Gaza, obviously. So he worked for Hamas then.

The Palestinian Chronicle claims he was killed “in the Nuseirat massacre” on Saturday.
